چکیده

Relativistic heavy ion collisions have been extensively investigated to determine the equation-of-state (eos) of nuclear matter using phenomenological e ective elds of the non-relativistic Skyrme or the relativistic Walecka type. It is found generally that a soft eos with momentum dependence can decribe much of the data in the SIS energy range. It is, however, of fundamental interest to test also microscopic elds derived from NNinteractions by manybody theory. We have previously used self energies from relativistic Brueckner calculations (DB) and have shown that these satisfactorily explain the data for ow observables [1], however, only if non-equlibrium e ects are considered, i.e. taking into account that the momentum distribution is not equilibrated during a large part of an energetic heavy ion collision, which changes the e ective elds. The non-equlibrium e ects e ectively soften the eos.

Elliptic flow and nuclear modification factor in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions within a partonic transport model.

The quark gluon plasma produced in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions exhibits remarkable features. It behaves like a nearly perfect liquid with a small shear viscosity to entropy density ratio and leads to the quenching of highly energetic particles. We show that both effects can be understood for the first time within one common framework. Employing the parton cascade Boltzmann approach t...

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

Parton rearrangement and fast thermalization in heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies

The implications of parton rearrangement processes on the dynamics of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions have been investigated. A microscopic transport approach, namely the quark gluon string model (QGSM) which has been extended for a locally density-dependent partonic rearrangement and fusion procedure served as the tool for this investigations. The model emulates effectively the dynamic...

Microscopic description of anisotropic flow in relativistic heavy ion collisions

Abstract. Anisotropic flow of hadrons is studied in heavy ion collisions at SPS and RHIC energies within the microscopic quark-gluon string model. The model was found to reproduce correctly many of the flow features, e.g., the wiggle structure of direct flow of nucleons at midrapidity, or centrality, rapidity, and transverse momentum dependences of elliptic flow. Further predictions are made. T...

Dissociation rates of J / ψ ’ s with comoving mesons — thermal vs . nonequilibrium scenario

We study J/ψ dissociation processes in hadronic environments. The validity of a thermal meson gas ansatz is tested by confronting it with an alternative, nonequilibrium scenario. Heavy ion collisions are simulated in the framework of the microscopic transport model UrQMD, taking into account the production of charmonium states through hard parton-parton interactions and subsequent rescattering ...
